About Project
Client: Michael Gaio (in-house)
Subject: 3D Art
Role: 3D modeler, designer, animator
Period: 1998
Early in my multimedia profession, I experimented with 3D design using KPT Bryce–an early and really wonderful 3D “fractal landscape” design software (made by a student of Benoît Mandelbrot). KPT Bryce existed years before 3D Max, Maya, or Blender.
These are works of art that I created over the course of 1998. Some of these were also animated.
My Task
I designed, modeled, textured, rendered, and animated every pixel of these 3D images.
Result
While 3D rendering has come a long way since 1998, all things considered, I think these still look pretty good!
